The Primo Traverse aka the BLT (Boston to Logan Traverse) Part 1. To this day one of the best adventures I’ve had close to home. Inspired by Lowell Skoogs Logan high route but envisioned by @mattprimomo
We lost a great soul this week! He was husband, father, friend, mentor and absolute wizard in the snow. I went on numerous missions into the mountains with him. He would find the line and all of us would follow. He had a knack for the obscure. Linkin
We lost a great soul this week! He was husband, father, friend, mentor and absolute wizard in the snow. I went on numerous missions into the mountains with him. He would find the line and all of us would follow. He had a knack for the obscure. Linking couloirs, connecting terrain. He studied the plants and animals everywhere he went. He was a true artist of the backcountry and savant in life. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do or figure out. As a newer winter traveler he constantly took me under his wing. I watched how he moved through the snow and when he dug into it and when flew down it! I wanted to mimic his style. His style was subtle, clean, and full of heart. He watched mountains season by season, looking at them from different angles and conditions. He had a high tolerance for adventure which also allowed to push further than most. I’ll miss you a lot man!

My name is Adam Butterfield. I am a IFMGA/AMGA Mountain Guide that lives in Leavenworth, WA but primarily works in Mazama, WA. I have spent the last decade adventuring in the Cascades. I specialize in high end climbing and skiing. I have established new climbs and opened up new descents all around the US.
